About rutefold
rutefold is a library for the walking, running and cycling routes you've saved. It helps you pick today's route from the ones you already have, by where it starts, how far it is, how much it climbs and how long it takes at your own pace.
Why it exists
Routes come from everywhere: Komoot, Strava, an event site, a friend's message. They end up as GPX files spread over apps, downloads and chats, and the good ones get forgotten. rutefold keeps them in one place, with what you need to choose: the start, the distance, the climbs, and when you last did each one.
What it does, and doesn't
- Brings your routes in: GPX files, your Strava archive, and Garmin outings through Intervals.icu.
- Learns your pace from your own outings, so the time it shows is yours.
- Keeps them tidy: tags, collections, quick picks and a map of everything. It spots duplicates and asks before removing anything.
- Doesn't navigate, plan new routes or keep score. Download the GPX and follow it on your watch, bike computer or favourite app.
Who runs it
rutefold is run by Evert Van den Bruel, a sole trader in Belgium (enterprise number BE 0839.247.562). It's hosted by Hetzner in the EU. The legal notice has the details.
Your routes stay yours
rutefold is free for now, with no ads, no selling your data and no tracking you around the web. If paid plans come, you'll hear before anything costs money. You can download every route's GPX file, or delete your account, at any time. The privacy policy says what rutefold keeps and why.
You can also ask Claude or ChatGPT about your routes: they can look at your library once you allow it, and make collections if you let them, never change your routes.
